There are many different ways to go about having an online portfolio and different items you can include, we all know what there are lots of portfolio websites which looks amazing and incredibly stunning. but whichever way you go about it you need to make sure that it showcases you and your products in the best possible way.

The things you must include in your online portfolio include:

Clear And Concise Information

The whole point of a portfolio is to allow your potential customers to read about you and what you do. They don’t want to go searching for this information, so you need to make sure that you do everything you can to make sure it is easy to find.

Try to make sure that descriptions on the site are clear and to the point, so that your potential customer does not get bored! Concentrate on the positives of your products or services.

There is a famous saying which says that a picture paints a thousand words, and there is so true when it comes to your portfolio. People want to see what they are getting for their money.

It is all well and good telling them what you can do for them, but they really need picture evidence. On top of that you can use photos to break down large chunks of writing which is going to make your portfolio much more pleasing on the eye.

You also need to let your customers know you have confidence in your products and show them samples of what you can do. This can either be through links to pieces you have created or customer reviews from items you have sold before.

Whatever it is, it is a way to cement in your new clients mind that you do know what you are doing and this is going to give them peace of mind and encourage them to buy from you.

Contact Details

If you have gone to all of this effort of showing and telling people how good you are – you need to make it easy for them to get hold of you!

People are easily distracted, so you want to do what you can to make sure they contact you quickly before they forget. Including your contact details is essential so that people can contact you while you are fresh in their mind.

Of course this isn’t everything that needs to be included in your online portfolio, but if you go ahead with these simple steps you can ensure you have done what you can to encourage people to contact you about your products and/or services.
